Into the case books about Newt Scamander (flip-through and review)

Today I'd like to talk about two different books:"The Case of Beasts- Explore the Film Wizardry of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Newt Scamander: A Movie Scrapbook". I have put these two together because not only are they both about the same Fantastic Beasts movie (and Where to Find Them), but also because they are essentially the same kind of book: movie paper prop book.

The Case of Beasts falls within The Archives of Magic series of books, whilst the Newt Scamander Scrapbook is just a stand alone, and as far as I know there isn't a sequel for it for The Crimes of Grindelwald. Whilst there is one for The Case of Beasts.
Even though they aren't part of the same series, they are essentially the same kind of book. They are both very photo and movie magic heavy, both focus on extra character and setting information, and both have paper props you can remove. Some come out without issue, and others involve slicing through (because it does NOT peel off) a strip of tape. Which I didn't do because I am terrified of damaging my books, and I also don't want to lose any pieces.  A lot of these props are really sizeable but aside from the Mappa Mundy and MACUSA map, each of of them comes with different props.

I actually really love these books, I actually like the Scrapbook a little more than The Case of Beasts, just because I like how compact it is, I love the Art Deco feel of the cover (both front and back) and I love all the loose paper props. That said, they are both beautiful books with a stunning level of detail, and if you collect Harry Potter books, or just want to get some specialty Fantastic Beasts ones, I would absolutely recommend these. Just, and take this from me, have a really good look around, because prices really vary like crazy. I most certainly did _not_ pay $68 for The Case of Beasts, not even $45, which is what the publisher is asking. I paid about $30 on bol.com. So there you go.

If you want to see if these books, or one of these books, is something you'd like to get, have a look at my flip-through videos, where you can see the entire book and all the props.

I know, I know, the background tunes are old timey music like you hear in Disney themeparks (clearly they don't want to pay for music either haha) but if I use official movie soundtrack snippets on the Toob, the Toob gets upset at me and the video gets restricted. So yeah, if you don't like old timey bops, hit that mute button!
