The Broom Collection, in the same artifacts series as The Wand Collection, by Insight Edition, succeeds where The Wand Collection fails.
The
pages are a dark grey rather than a flat pure black, meaning that the brooms
pop more on the page and it’s easier to see the details.
They also made this book really diverse, including concept art, sketches, brooms only seen in a one or a few scenes such as the first flying lesson brooms, those of the room of requirement and such. Furthermore, if you thought Victor Krum flew a Firebolt in the movie like he does in the book: think again.

Every
character’s broom in the movie is a different model (bar the Weasley twins, who
both have the same broom on a large fold out page) and so you get a little info
on one side and a full page image of the broom on the other.
But
not just that, they also delve into broom care, broom adverts, Quidditch;
including uniforms, equipment, fandom and the world cup.
Furthermore
this book covers all brooms from the movies, up to Fantastic Beasts, The Crimes
of Grindelwald. Does this mean we will get updated editions after every new
Fantastic Beasts movie? Or when that franchise ends? It remains to be seen,
after all The Wand Collection hasn’t been updated to cover Fantastic Beasts
only.
The pages are thick and sturdy, so should be able to withstand a lot of leafing through them. They are also very glossy, which makes it hard to film and photograph them. As does the long format of the book. I get why they went for a format like this, because brooms and wands are lengthy objects. But like I said, it does make it hard to get imagery for reviews!
It also proves my point that you should absolutely get these in hard cover, as I’ve been reading and looking through this one a damn sight more than I have The Wand Collection, and so far, no pages have started to come loose because the spine has cracked.
I did try to film it but it was way too hard to get the weird size in frame properly. It also doesn't help that due to the size, there's always glare in a large section somewhere, so I gave up on filming. So instead, here are some more photos!
It's really making me want to try my hand at building my own broom!
