Once Upon A Time...

Once Upon a Time

When the Cinquantenaire Museum (my all time fave museum) introduced Once Upon a Time, my inner steampunk rejoiced.
An exhibit dedicated to pocket watches?
BRING ...
IT ...
ON.
I love pocket watches, my main watch is a pocket watch.
 I own several.
Pocket watches are bomb.

Elftopia fantasy fair

Elftopia

When we went to Atsusacon (link to the post about that event), Lora had told me that Tom and her were going to Elftopia on the Saturday (the 12th).
My +1 press access was good for either day, but I did still email to ask whether coming on Saturday would be ok, and huzzah it was (really, the organisation is SO nice!).

summery Planckendael zoo visit

map

A few months ago Alpro was doing a promotion where you could save up 5 points to get a “buy one at the door, get one free” ticket to Planckendael zoo (or you could go to the Antwerp Zoo or the Serpentarium but out of those three, Planckendael appealed the most).
As I tend to eat and drink a lot of Alpro products anyway, I figured there was no harm in collecting points for one ticket.
And as it was valid 'till quite late in September, I figure that we would either go or we won't.

But obviously we went, and this is what our day looked like :)

Atsusacon with my friend Lora and NMBS fail, yet again

Atsusacon

Lora and I have been going to Atsusacon pretty much since the first edition in 2011. Not always together, and I'm not sure she's done every single edition, but I have.
So of course, when I got the press invite to attend, I immediately poked her and asked which day she wanted to go. We settled on Saturday (the 5th)

Some EU politics

I know a lot of people care about what's going on in the EU, and about current affairs etc.
So I'm sharing this little tidbit (thank you to the kind person who shared it on twitter so I could find it!) for those that care.

Basically, this is a survey about non EU citizens migrating to the EU, you can give your opinon as a private citizen, or as an employer etc etc etc.
So, if filling this in would interest you, click this link and do so.

That all said, I think it's pretty damn shameful that the media aren't picking up on this. But then again, we all know they don't want us to be able to actually have an opinion that isn't theirs, let alone be able to express it on an official channel.

Antihaul #1, what I'm not gonna buy!

First of all, anti-hauls were started by Kimberly Clark. You should all check out her youtube channel because she is AMAZING!

I am aware that there are far more make-up releases than what I'm picking from. And even though I could get products from the US thanks to friends that live there, I am focussing on products I can buy in Europe.
Or what I think I will be able to buy in Europe eventually.
I may guess wrong though.

I am also not including drugstore make-up, because sadly, most of the drugstore brands here are either not cruelty free (and I make very few exceptions when it comes to that) or simply not something my skin can deal with without breaking out in some way or another.
Same goes for designer and really high end make-up, in my experience I'm better off spending my money chez M.A.C or Sephora.
So I am instead focussing on brands that tend to use better quality ingredients, so stuff I would be able to use if I wanted to.
Which I don't, clearly.

Anyway,
Check out what I'm not gonna buy!

haru (of the band universe) on tour in Europe!

haru on tour

haru, vocalist of the Japanese band universe (which you may know from the ending song of the BLEACH anime), is coming to Europe to tour with REALive (the agency organising said tour) for the very first time.
So if you're a fan, or simply like seeing Japanese artists perform live, have a look at those tour dates *points up at the flyer image* and see about attending one of the concerts.

Both tour start and final lives are together with other artists.
On August 19 in Essen, Germany, haru will be joined by German NuMetal band SCARGOT and on August 27 in Liège, Belgium he will be joined by SVGV and LVA Baby.

Tickets and info.
