Why, oh why, do these lipsticks always have daft names?
I feel like I can't win here. Anyway, I love lipsticks, so it should come to no surprise there's lipsticks in this month's faves. Actually, I don't think I've ever done a faves without lipstick, come to think of it!
For those interested, I did a week of favourite lipsticks, where I posted my top 7 (1 each day of the week). You can see those here

Sephora Rouge Shine - Latin Lover

Latin lovers apparently are orange...
As it's a shine formula, this is the comfort of a really nice lipstick with the effect of a gloss. Which means it's not terribly long wearing, but the colour is nice.
You can definitely build it up, or wear it as a sheer wash of colour. I love how summery this is!
Of course, it's also great for the Halloween season (which should be starting right about now in the US if I'm not mistaken).
It's not particularly moisturising, but it's not drying either, so yeah, it's good. I like it a lot. I especially like that it doesn't feather out, so I don't need to bother with a lip liner. Although of course, paired with a liner, the colour would be much more opaque from the get go.
I have a coral liner, so there are definitely summer options to this :).

Too Faced, La Crème in Sugar Daddy

Sugar daddies come in the nude
I think that was what the creative minds at Too Faced must have been thinking. Why else would you name a classic nude lipstick Sugar Daddy
That all aside, this isn't an exciting colour at all, it's a simple true nude. Which is fine, really, everyone needs a standard nude.
What I love about this, is not the colour but the formula. This is just like wearing a comfortable lipbalm, but with all the coverage of a really good nude lipstick. So as far as true nudes go, this is perfect. Especially because it is also ridiculously long wearing.
Totally worth the price tag.

Sephora, cream lip stain in pretty auburn

Why not just call it chocolate?
Although I feel like it really could have been worse. Previous two proving my point. But no, Pretty Auburn is an ok name. Even though there is nothing auburn about this colour, it's just a true chocolate brown.
Finally, a brown lipstick without undertones.
Once it's dry, it's really pretty transfer proof. It doesn't feather, and it doesn't feel horrible at all. Actually, I would dare to say that this is a very close second to the formula of the tarte cosmetics quick dry matte lip paints, but much cheaper (€10,95 a piece).
It won't survive eating very well, so make sure to carry wet/remover wipes and a mirror so you can properly re-apply if you plan on wearing this out all day long!
I don't mind, because it's an easy enough job with this one, but I know some others do so I just wanted to mention that.

brushes!

Apply, apply, apply
I profitted of the sales at Nocibé whilst I was at the V2 in Villeneuve-d'Ascq to get more brushes :). These are the softest brushes, they are so good! I really love using them.
I think that next sales, I'll get some more :). Well, more of those blending brushes, and maybe a couple of other ones too, because I definitely own more than enough concealer brushes now! Of course, I say that now, but as Nocibé doesn't ship to Belgium, it'll depend on whether or not I can make it to France during the next sales period.

An added shout-out goes to the essence powder brush that came in their 15th anniversary box (from the live, laugh, celebrate! range) because that is actually an amazing blush brush. Love it! My mother in law was kind enough to give me the one in her box as well, which is most excellent of her because essence sadly doesn't sell this brush. Which they really should be doing because it's much better than their regular powder brushes (they're also nice, just not AS nice you know).

Sephora - fingertip eyeliner in Metallic Gold

Speaking of applications
This one is gimmicky like you wouldn't believe. If I really were to put this on a fingertip to apply liner, it would not end well. Ok sure, for a photo it's all fun, true enough.
That said, if I just hold it, it's an a+ liner.
It's very opaque, it doesn't flake, it doesn't smudge, it's everything I want from a gold liner. I don't use eyeliner often though, so I've only got one example of me wearing it. It needs to be said that normally it shouldn't be creasing, but my Sephora eye shadow primer is utterly SHITE, urgh. I really need to get a better primer asap!
If anyone has a suggestion for a good eye shadow primer (that is NOT by Urban Decay, because they don't agree with me), please let me know in the comments! :)   Day 68/100 days of make-up in 2017

essence top coat

Smells like peaches, ...sort of
Can I just stop and say that I love the entire I want candy Chupa Chups look of the products.
I was tempted to buy the eye shadow quad just for the design alone. Of course I didn't, because I wouldn't use it but it was hella cute.
Anyway, to the top coat, which is the actual point. It reminds me a little of O.P.I's int crime caper, which of course has been discontinued ages ago.
But this is properly cool for all kinds of stuff. I even like applying a base coat, a clear varnish and then this on top just because it looks pretty on it's own, too.
It's kinda the Unicorn Tears of nail varnishes, just in a different shade. And a LOT cheaper!
Also, when applied and dry it does smell like candy peaches BUT the scent doesn't really stick around, so the entire scented part is pretty much just a gimmick. Which surprises no one I'm sure!

Photo of the day: 22.7.2017 (day 203)

Bonus photo of Loa cat posing with the varnish, because I REALLY had to talk him into going along with this pose. I had to ask him like 5 times, with the promise of cat treats. I never actually force him, he just makes displeased faces at the camera because he likes making faces at the camera.

essence - nose strips

Bye bye blackheads
I have to admit that when I first saw that essence was doing nose pore cleaning strips I was somewhat skeptical. BUT, essence does actually quite well with skincare (much better than with cosmetics in my opinion) so I decided to give them ago. Especially as they were under €2 for a pack of 3 strips. Admittedly, I started using them in June, but I wanted to use more than just one pack to see whether it was really any good. And lo and behold, it actually is!
Are these the best strips on the market? Doubtful, BUT they do a really good job on my skin, there’s nothing in them I’m allergic to and they are cheap, so I’ll continue to use them. Until essence discontinues them next month at least... At least it was good as long as it lasted I suppose.

Treasure Planet top

The ole family recipe
Treasure Planet is, hands down, my favourite animated Disney movie.
It’s one of my favourite movies of all time.
So understandably, when my friend Lora gave this to me as an early birthday present, I was SO happy. OMG! Thank you again Lora, I absolutely LOVE this.
Love it, LOVE it, LOVE IT!

asos jeans jacket

European summers can be chilly
Bert got me this for my birthday. And I totally love it. He got it via asos, who distribute H! by Henry Holland. I had wanted a demin jacket for a while, but I didn’t want a regular blue one, so when I saw this online I was all “yes, that!”. I know it seems very not me, but l do have a soft spot for soft purples and weird designs and this goes well with brown. Yes, I do pair this with steampunk stuff. Sorry, not sorry.

ice cream bubble blowers

Summer fun
I love bubble blowers, but when I saw these in a magazine, I just had to have them. They were sold out on the HEMA website, but when I checked the stock of the local store online, it was set on “plenty”. Which was not a lie when I went there to buy a set.
You get three for a little under €3 and I feel that it's money well spent.
They even have little holes in the tops, so you can put them on a string and such.
Super, super cute.
I really love the entire development where you can find all these kawaii things. I don't feel the need to own all of them, but I can definitely appreciate all the cute in my life, if only to brighten up my shopping experience in stores :).

Just blowing bubbles

Added note: where possible I link to English language (UK) websites in the summary, even when I bought the product in a Belgian store, or via a Dutch language website. So if you don't live in the UK, simply google for your country's website alternative. Most stores I buy from have one. Eventually these links may expire when a company discontinues a product, but at the time this post goes live, they *should* all be good.
